Once and awhile a cause comes along that merits attention. The Annual Al and Jean Veys golf tournament was created to raise money for two organizations that the Veys family has close ties to. St. Bernadette School and Visiting Nurse Association. As you may know Al and Jean Veys did so much for their community and belonged to many social and civic organizations. Al’s 20 plus years in city government and involvement in many fundraising activities placed him in the hearts of many. Jeans commitment to the children of the community was known throughout the state. In 2001 the Omaha Retail Meat Dealers Association created this memorial golf tournament to pay tribute to these two extraordinary people as well as raise money for the two causes that were close to them. The money raised in these annual events benefits many in our community. Take time to look over the site and you will see this event truly is one of Omaha’s premiere golf tournaments.
